Tran Trong Kien is the Founder/Chairman and CEO of Thien Minh Group (TMG), an integrated Travel Group specializing in the Southeast Asian region.

He originally started running local tours to fund his medical studies before founding Buffalo Tours in 1994. Buffalo Tours has evolved into one of the top regional tour operators and is acknowledged as the best originating from Vietnam.

Kien had turned original Buffalo Tours brand into a global network of 17 operations offices in Asia and 04 sales offices in Europe, USA and Australia before entering into agreement regarding divestment of this brand with Flight Centre Travel Group Limited in July 2018.

In the past 24 years, TMG (www.tmgroup.vn ) has grown tremendously from Buffalo Tours to an integrated Travel Group in Southeast Asia which currently consists of four main business lines: Hospitality, Aviation, Online and Destination Management.

Kien graduated as a Medical Doctor from Hanoi Medical School, holds a BA in English from University of Foreign Languages and International Studies, Hanoi, Vietnam and a MBA from the University of Hawaii at Manoa.

He is a member of several professional and social organizations, including chairman of Vietnam Tourism Advisory Board (TAB), Hue Tourism Advisory Board (HTAB), Vietnam Tour Guides Association (VTGA), Trustee of Fulbright University Vietnam, Vietnam Tourism Association (VITA), Board member of Vinaland, Vietnam Institute of Directors (VIOD) and ex- board member of Asia Commercial Bank (ACB) and VP Bank.
